Slice Of Eggnog Pie

Are you looking for a new dessert recipe for the holiday season? We have a suggestion that may sound crazy at first, but we promise you won’t think that after you take a bite. We’re talking about eggnog pie. Eggnog pie contains eggnog, of course, and many other delicious ingredients. It has the sweet, classic pie flavor you’d expect, along with a little eggnog flavor. If you’re still unconvinced about making this recipe for your friends and family this season, then read on to see just how easy and tasty it is.

Ingredients

The ingredients for this pie help set the stage for all of its’ deliciousness. Despite being called eggnog pie, there are only two cups of eggnog in it. That amount keeps the pie from tasting overwhelmingly like eggnog alone. Other ingredients include a cup of milk, a package of vanilla cook and serve pudding mix, a tablespoon of rum, an eighth of a teaspoon of ground nutmeg, and a pastry shell to bake it all in. You can also choose to add whipped toppings and more ground nutmeg on top of the pie once it’s done baking if you’d prefer.

Directions

These directions are surprisingly easy. Over medium heat, cook the eggnog, milk, and vanilla pudding in a large saucepan until the mixture is thick and bubbling. Then, remove from the heat and let it cool slightly. Once it has cooled, stir in the nutmeg and rum. Pour all of the mixture into the pie crust and let it chill in the fridge to set. Top it off with any whipped toppings and nutmeg if you’d like.

That’s all it takes to make a scrumptious dessert fit for any holiday dinner table. When you bring it to your holiday meal, don’t tell anyone what’s in it; see if they can guess after tasting it. We bet they won’t be able to guess that there is eggnog in this delicious pie!
