The beauty of Eagle Creek encompasses 11,100 acres of water and 250 miles of maintained indigenous woodland that are fantastic for outdoor activitiesActivities at Eagle Creek State Park include camping, hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, picnicking and so much more! 

Camping and Hiking

Camping sites are popular at Eagle Creek State Park and not in short supply. With 75 class A sites that include electricity, showers, water, fire pits and picnic tables, you are sure to have plenty of fun. There is an additional organized group camping area that can be reserved for large parties as well.  

The Park offers three marked trails that serve as cross-country ski trails in the winter. More avid hikers will love the 12-mile Illini Trail. Any trail you choose to hike will show you beautiful forest and the tranquility of nature.  

Fishing and Boating

Water sports, floating and catching fish can all be in your future. Eagle Creek State Park has a four-lane coat launch, 175 car parking area and two marinas that provide the perfect conditions for boating or fishing. Lake Shelbyville will provide fishers seeking the best conditions plenty of black and white crappie, largemouth bass, walleye, catfish, bluegill, muskie, bullhead, carp and sunfish! 

Golfing

Eagle Creek Golf Course is nestled in 34,000 acres of woods and lake banks. The course was built in 1989 offering four different sets of tee boxes at a Par 72.  

Hunting

Eagle Creek Wildlife Area offers 785 acres of designated hunting ground. A state hunting license is required in addition to a seasonal hunting permit, which are available for free in the park office. Test your bow and arrow hunting skills by stalking squirrel, rabbit, quail and deer. Need practice? Picnicking

Just to the west of Lake Shelbyville is a 2,200-acre site fully equipped with picnic areas. These areas include grills, tables, water, sanitary facilities and playgrounds scattered throughout the park.  

There is no limit to what you can do at Eagle Creek State Park. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors and make memories for years to come.
