Creativity has a new home in Decatur at The ArtFarm, a gallery and shop in the heart of downtown. The new business, which opened in January 2018, has an old soul: It occupies a converted 134-year-old building on the north side of Central Park. The ArtFarm showcases works in a multitude of media by local artists – across the state of Illinois, with many hailing from the city of Decatur itself.
The stated mission of The ArtFarm is “cultivating creative living,” and its shop is a showcase for unique, handmade artistic endeavors including paintings, cross-stitched wall hangings, wind chimes made from found objects, woven handbags, greeting cards, home decor, stuffed toys for kids, and much more. Stop into the brick-and-mortar location on North Park Street to browse the rotating inventory, or check out a virtual store tour online. The ArtFarm also hosts regular events and classes in-house and in coordination with nearby art studios.
